Palladium hosts Lord Of The Dance

Irish dance star Michael Flatley will return for one final season in the West End when Lord Of The Dance plays at the London Palladium this autumn.

The Celtic dance spectacular, which will also feature guest appearances from former Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle at some performances, runs at the world famous London venue from 1 September to 25 October.

The new staging of Flatley’s famous dance show, for which it has gained the subtitle Dangerous Games, will find the worldwide star taking a smaller role than previously as he is joined by 40 youthful dancers to tell a tale of good versus evil based on Irish folklore. Flatley’s story finds the Little Spirit travelling through time to help the titular noble defend his people from Don Dorcha.

Since Lord Of The Dance premiered in 1996 it has been seen by more than 60 million people in 60 different countries, including 400,000 during a five year residency in Las Vegas.

The highly popular high-kicking extravaganza opens at the London Palladium following the closure of X Factor musical I Can’t Sing! and is due to be part of a line-up of short season shows that will take the historic theatre back to its variety roots.
