Olivier Awards roll out Red Carpet Live Show

Published 23 March 2017

The Olivier Awards with Mastercard has announced the first details of its inaugural Red Carpet Live Show. For the first time in the awards’ history, the red carpet will be seen live across the world.

Broadcast exclusively on the Olivier Awards’ Facebook page, theatre fans will be able to follow all the action from the Royal Albert Hall, including interviews with nominees, stars and other guests, alongside exclusive content. Fans are also encouraged to comment along and ask questions of this year’s presenters and nominees, and to contribute content that will be aggregated on the show by using #OlivierAwards (in partnership with Tagboard).

Red carpet coverage will begin at 4.30pm. The livestream will be hosted by broadcaster and journalist Anita Rani, presenter and Collabro singer Jamie Lambert and NY-1’s Frank DiLella.

Red Carpet Live hosts

Anita Rani (@itsanitarani) is one of the lead presenters on BBC One’s Countryfile, is a regular part of the One Show team, and has just hosted the hugely successful Strictly Come Dancing Live tour.

Jamie Lambert (@JamieCollabro) is part of the globally successful group, Collabro, winners of Britain’s Got Talent 2014, who have just released their third album.

Frank DiLella (@fdilella) is the Entertainment Reporter for NY-1 News in New York, and produces and reports for On Stage, the news channel’s weekly half-hour theatre programme.

The broadcast will also include a celebration of the Be Inspired Champions. Recently announced by the Olivier Awards, these six individuals were nominated by the public and theatre industry for motivating and inspiring others with their love and commitment to theatre.

The new red carpet broadcast is Executive Produced by Julian Bird and Sally Wood for SOLT.

The awards, hosted by Jason Manford, will be broadcast in the UK and worldwide via ITV, Magic and Facebook. Scheduling will be announced shortly.
