Actor Julian Barratt, who is best known for starring opposite Noel Fielding in surreal cult comedy show The Mighty Boosh, is to join Janie Dee in the cast of upcoming Royal Court production NSFW.

Barratt, who last appeared on stage in The Government Inspector at the Young Vic, will play the editor of a lads magazine in Lucy Kirkwood’s new timely comedy set amid today’s media industry.

The Nathan Barley star joins a cast that also includes Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Sacha Dhawan, Kevin Doyle and Esther Smith.

NSFW, which stands for Not Safe For Work, marks the Royal Court debut of playwright Lucy Kirkwood, the joint winner of the 2010 John Whiting Award, whose credits include Tinderbox at the Bush theatre and TV series Skins.

NSFW opens in the Downstairs theatre next month, following the current acclaimed production of Caryl Churchill’s Love And Information.
