The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time is returning to London

The show that’s wowed audiences around the world for the best part of a decade is making its return to London later this year. After earning seven Olivier Awards for its inaugural run in 2012, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time fast became a must-see production – which has been seen by five million people worldwide thus far – so whenever it comes to town, it’s something to celebrate.

From 18 November, the breath-taking show will be heading to one of London’s newest venues – Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. It’ll be a limited run of just seven weeks with tickets going on sale for NT priority members tomorrow (Wednesday 4 March) and it’ll be on general sale on Friday 13 March.

Don’t know about the show? It’s a unique production that tells the tale of Christopher Boone – a 15-year-old boy who’s got an extraordinary brain and is exceptional at maths, but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. One night, he finds himself stood next to the neighbour’s dog who has been speared with a garden fork. Christopher is under suspicion so he takes it upon himself to crack the case which takes him on a journey that will turn his world upside down.

Casting for Tennessee Williams’ The Two Character Play at Hampstead Theatre announced

Today, Hampstead Theatre has announced that David Dawson and Lyndsey Marshal will tread its boards in the innovative, and partly autobiographical Tennesse Williams work, The Two Character Play.

David Dawson and Lyndsey Marshal to star in Th Two Character Play

You may recognise David Dawson from his recent portrayal of John Merrick (The Elephant Man) in Channel 4’s Year of the Rabbit and his appearance in BBC espionage drama The Secret Agent.

He will be starring alongside Lyndsey Marshall who’s best known for her turn in The Hours alongside Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore, and for her recurring role of Cleopatra in HBO’s Rome.

The Two Character Play will be directed by Olivier Award-nominated Sam Yates. He’s making his highly anticipated return to Hampstead Theatre after his critically acclaimed production of The Phlebotomist.

About the production, Sam said: “I am honoured to bring together for the first time two of our finest actors, Lyndsey Marshal and David Dawson, to play brother and sister in Tennessee Williams’ daring experiment in form. I’m particularly excited to return to Hampstead with designer Rosanna Vize and an ambitious creative team.”

The Two Character Play

The Two Character play tells the story of actors, brother and sister Felice and Clare, who have been on tour too long. Every town looks increasingly the same until they feel they could be anywhere… Abandoned by the rest of the acting company, but faced with an audience expecting a performance, they must enact The Two Character Play. But as their gripping ‘play within a play’ unfolds, the line between reality and illusion becomes increasingly unclear.

Seeing as Williams himself described the play as “my most beautiful play since Streetcar, the very heart of my life,” we can barely contain our excitement to see this incredible team come together for this production.
