Les Misérables cast gets summer makeover

First Published 10 May 2016, Last Updated 27 October 2017

David Langham and Chris Cowley will join the cast of Les Misérables on 13 June, replacing Phil Daniels and Bradley Jaden as the unscrupulous Thénardier and idealistic Enjolras.

They join a cast led by Peter Lockyer and Jeremy Secomb as prisoner-on-the-run Jean Valjean and the policeman in pursuit Javert, alongside Craig Mather, Rachelle Ann Go, Eva Noblezada, Katy Secombe and Zoë Doano.

Langham joins the company having last appeared in Wendy & Peter Pan for the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Light Princess at the National Theatre.

Cowley last strutted his musical stuff on the London stage in Wicked, but has more recently appeared in The Last Five Years in Ipswich.

Now in its record-breaking 31st year, Les Misérables tells an epic story set in revolutionary France. When Jean Valjean is released from prison, he struggles to rebuild his life and is forced to live under a new, and illegal, identity. As Inspector Javert hunts him down, France is in the grip of revolutionary spirit, students arm themselves and take to the street, ne’er-do-wells and ruffians pick the pockets of the dead and injured, young lovers meet and are torn apart, and passions run high.

Now the longest running musical in the world, Les Misérables is currently booking at London’s Queen’s Theatre until March 2017. You can book tickets through us here.
