In Pictures: West End LIVE

First Published 23 June 2014, Last Updated 27 June 2014

The sun was out in force this weekend for the 10th annual West End LIVE in association with MasterCard, where thousands of musical theatre fans gathered in Trafalgar Square for two days of unforgettable free entertainment.

There was everything from long-running favourites Billy Elliot The Musical, Wicked and The Phantom Of The Opera to West End newcomers Miss Saigon and The Pajama Game to get the sun cream-coated crowds singing and dancing along to some of the most popular songs currently being performed on the capital’s stages.

Featuring one of the most eclectic schedules ever seen at the annual event, the weekend’s attendees were even treated to opera from the Royal Opera House and English National Opera, a series of performances celebrating the last decade of London musicals from renowned performers including Jodie Prenger, Danielle Hope and Daniel Boys, and a taste of upcoming shows including The Gershwins’ Porgy And Bess.

As if that wasn’t enough to keep us entertained throughout the weekend, there were on and off-stage selfies, free ice creams courtesy of MasterCard and the return of the West End LIVE Mexican wave.

Whether you were able to join us or not, you’ll be grateful to hear that our photographer Pamela Raith was there to capture it all. Take a look at all the weekend action in our gallery of her photos above.
