In Pictures: Fatal Attraction opens

Published 26 March 2014

They’re a hardy bunch, these celebrity audience members. It takes more than the peril of a be-whiskered, cotton-tailed carrot muncher to keep them away from an opening night.

In fact, thumper-esque cast member and his alternative jacuzzi may well have been one of the reasons the cast of stars turned out for the opening of the stage adaptation of Fatal Attraction. That and its leads, Kristin Davis, Natascha McElhone and Mark Bazeley.

And the reputation of its director, Sir Trevor Nunn.

And the story, which, what with it being based on a hit 80s film so successful it has birthed a term now commonly used in reference to a woman who may have a little troubled controlling homicidal urges, is fairly well known. It follows a successful lawyer whose extra marital affair leads to some rather unsuspected and, shall we say displeasing, surprises.

Actress Rosamund Pike, celebrity cook Nigella Lawson, former footballer Sol Campbell and author, presenter and social media icon Stephen Fry were among the celeb-filled audience snapped by Dan Wooller.
