Comedian Rufus Hound will take over from Owain Arthur as food-loving Francis Henshall in the West End production of National Theatre hit One Man, Two Guvnors next year.
Hound, who is currently playing the comic role in the UK touring production, was last seen on the London stage in the Soho theatre’s play cycle Utopia but is better known for his appearances on TV panel shows including Celebrity Juice and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
Set in 1960s Brighton, Richard Bean’s award-winning adaptation of Carlo Goldoni’s The Servant Of Two Masters tells the story of loveable Henshall who, after being fired from his skiffle band, becomes a minder to small-time crook Roscoe Crabbe. Thinking of his stomach, he seizes the chance for a second meal ticket by taking another job with Stanley Stubbers. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep them apart, however Roscoe and Stanley have a reason to seek each other out.
One Man, Two Guvnors is currently booking at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until 31 August 2013, with Hound joining the cast from 4 February.
