Guys And Dolls rolls out of London

First Published 2 August 2016, Last Updated 2 August 2016

The Olivier Award-nominated production of musical classic Guys And Dolls is to conclude its run at the Phoenix Theatre on 21 August, having previously been booking until January 2017.

In a statement by the producers, it has been confirmed that the end of the show’s heralded West End run will coincide with the final performances of its current glamorous leading duo, Hollywood megastar Rebel Wilson and on-stage romantic partner Simon Lipkin.

The statement read, “Having enjoyed rave reviews in the UK, the critically acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre production of Guys & Dolls will play its final performance in the West End on Sunday 21st August, prior to embarking on an international tour. We are incredibly proud of Guys & Dolls and the way it has delighted audiences at Chichester Festival Theatre, in the West End (Savoy and Phoenix), and at numerous major UK venues.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in the show to date and very much look forward to taking Guys & Dolls to an international audience, opening in Israel in September this year.”

London audiences will thus have just under three weeks to catch the exuberant celebration of prohibition-era New York, with its vivacious story of gamblers, nightclub singers and hustlers featuring timeless songs including “Adelaide’s Lament”, “Luck Be A Lady” and, of course, the show-stopping “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat.”

Met with acclaim at every corner, the show’s wonderful journey has seen it accumulate review stars and supporters galore, with Official London Theatre describing it as “a show guaranteed to leave you grinning like you’ve just won a hatful of dollars on the roll of a dice.”

Families can take advantage of the show’s participation in Kids’ Week, our brilliant kids-go-free promotion.
