Greig, Suzman and Stevenson lead Gate line-up

Acclaimed actresses Tamsin Greig, Dame Janet Suzman and Juliet Stevenson will all appear at the Gate theatre this summer as part of the venue’s unique production White Rabbit Red Rabbit.

The actresses are joined by comedians Mark Watson and Tom Basden, and Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill in the full line-up of performances who will take their turn reading Nassim Soleimanpour’s arresting and allegorical work for the first time live on stage, thereby sharing their discovery of the mischievous piece with the audience.

Iranian playwright Soleimanpour’s play promises to dissect the experience of a whole generation in a wild and utterly original play. As well as needing no rehearsal, the production also requires no set or direction as each actor is left to present the play as they wish.

Leading the pack, Mock The Week’s Watson will perform on 17 June at 14:00 with Fringe First winner Basden taking the stage later that day on 17:00. 24 June will see RSC actress Suzman perform at 14:00, followed by Olivier Award-winning actress Stevenson at 17:00. Completely the run, Jumpy actress Greig will perform on 1 July at 14:00 with Darvill at 17:00.
