Back in our day, home computers had three uses: instant messaging, basic word processing (before your printer inevitably crashed), and the odd procrastinatory game of pinball or solitaire. But now, amplified by the omnipotent power of the magical Internet, whole governments can be toppled through a couple of clicks and a tap of the ENTER button, a pressing theme which the Hampstead Theatre’s latest thriller, Wild, explores.

The parallels with similar noteworthy events are salient and are duly reflected in this darkly comic thriller penned by Mike Bartlett. Promising to tackle the “unexpected, bewildering, and life-changing consequences of challenging the status quo at a global level”, the morality and status of the self-appointed warriors of the digital age is questioned – be they heroes or traitors?

From these latest snaps of the production, it’s clear that the isolation of such actions – the set appears to be a basic hotel room, rather than a technological haven – is paramount to such questions. One thing’s for sure: Wild is certain to contain pertinence in bucketloads.
