European premiere of new Disney concert

First Published 4 July 2016, Last Updated 5 July 2016

A new concert celebrating Disney’s Broadway shows will take place at the Royal Albert Hall this autumn.

Disney’s Broadway Hits will feature music from some of its most iconic stage shows, including Beauty And The Beast, Aida, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Tarzan and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, to be performed by a stellar line-up including the London cast of Aladdin and legendary Disney composer Alan Menken.

The BBC Concert Orchestra will bring these award-winning scores to life under the baton of Keith Lockhart, who also conducted the Oliviers In Concert in January. Further casting will be announced in due course.

Lucy Noble, Director of Events at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “There’s nothing like a Disney stage show to get the audience on its feet, and these incredible musicals have become a part of our culture: riots of colour, dance and song packed with ingenuity, emotion and unique theatrical magic.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the extraordinary music that has made Disney a byword for astonishing entertainment.”

Booking for the concert opens on Friday 8 July; visit www.royalalberthall.com for full information.

Current Disney shows playing in London include The Lion King and Aladdin, for which you can buy your tickets through Official London Theatre.
