Over the last seven days, the theatre world has been totally and utterly rocked! We’ve had a week absolutely chocked full of exciting announcements. A-list celebs are heading to the West End. The most talked about show in London is getting a cast shake up. Two electric shows are coming to town. And we’ve shared our must-see picks for October. Hamilton announces cast for its 2nd London year

Lin Manuel Miranda’s rap masterpiece will shortly enter its second year in the West End. To celebrate, 10 brand new cast members have been announced. But don’t worry, you still have time to catch the original cast and some members, including Olivier-nominated Jamael Westman who will continue as Alexander Hamilton.

Tom Hiddleston, Kit Harington & more stars in Pinter birthday gala

All the stars will align at the Harold Pinter Theatre on Wednesday 10 October for the Pinter birthday gala performance. The one-off performance will star Tom Hiddleston, Kit Harington, Kristin Scott Thomas, Indira Varma, Simon Russell Beale, Zawe Ashton, and many more. The performance will be raising money for Amnesty International and Chance to Shine – two of Pinter’s favoured charities.

Six The Musical makes royal return January 2019

Due to rapturous acclaim and popular demand, the queen bee of the West End, Six, will be coming back to the West End in January! The show which retells the story of Henry VIII’s six wives from their perspective will have an open-ended run at the Arts Theatre from 16 January.

Dear Evan Hansen is coming to London!

The smash hit, multi-Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen is finally coming to the West End! We don’t have a date yet and we don’t have a cast, but we do know it’ll be autumn 2019 and it’ll be at the Noël Coward Theatre.

Eugenius! transfers to the West End

Comic-book fever is still taking over the world and the latest superhero to sweep audiences off their feet is flying into the West End later this month. Due to phenomenal demand, Eugenius! is transferring to the Ambassadors Theatre for a limited 10-week run.

 

Alexander Vlahos to star in Peter Pan

TV star Alexander Vlahos will be starring in Park Theatre’s Peter Pan as the formidable Captain Hook. Alexander (BBC’s Versailles and Merlin) will be joining Nickcolia King-N’Da who is starring as Peter Pan.

Maxine Peake recognised for Outstanding Contribution To British Theatre

Maxine Peake is to be honoured at the 2018 UK Theatre Awards for her Outstanding Contribution to British Theatre.

The Bolton-born actor and writer will receive the award in recognition of her reputation as a champion of regional theatre and a trailblazer for female and working-class voices, as well as her contribution to the cultural life of her home region – especially through her long relationship with Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre, where she is an Associate Artist.
