Casting has been announced for Dusty, a new multimedia show celebrating the music of Dusty Springfield, which will receive its world premiere at the Charing Cross Theatre in June.

The hi-tech show, which tells Springfield’s story through the eyes of her childhood friend Nancy and other key figures in her life, will feature a cast including Ellie Ann-Lowe (Love Story, Union Theatre) as the legendary 60s singer.

Ann-Lowe is joined in the cast by Francesca Jackson (Million Dollar Quartet, West End) as Nancy, Leo Elso (Alice In Wonderland, Iris Theatre) as Springfield’s brother, and Joan Walker (Macbeth, Shakespeare’s Globe) and Graham Kent (Tin Tin, Barbican) as her parents.

The cast will also include Stewart McCheyne, Ben Tolley, Joe Vetch, Tristan Pate, Allyson Ava Brown, Danielle Kassaraté, Arabella Rodrigo, Bex Leung, Cleo Jaeger, Marianna Neofitou and Danielle Harrison.

Featuring recently discovered film footage and original music, Dusty will chart the highs and lows of Springfield’s journey from middle class suburban London to the recording of her seminal album Dusty In Memphis using the most up to date 3D technology and digital media.

Written by Kim Weild and Duncan Sibbald with direction from Chris Cowey, the show will play at the Charing Cross Theatre from 25 May to 22 August.
