Three Little Pigs

BGT’s Jiear joins The 3 Little Pigs

Alison Jiear, musical theatre performer and semi-finalist in the current series of Britain’s Got Talent, will bring her star quality to new children’s musical The 3 Little Pigs when it opens in London this summer.

Jiear, who wowed Simon Cowell and co with her rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone, joins Blue’s Simon Webbe, Olivier Award winner Leanne Jones, The Lion King’s Taofique Folarin and Gareth Gates in the new musical by Honk! and Betty Blue Eyes creators George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

The crackling new musical, which runs in the West End’s Palace Theatre from 5 August to 6 September, gives a new twist to the family favourite fairytale about a trio of impetuous porkers with an itching to leave home.

In this stage version, these little piggies become world renowned celebrities when they leave the safety of their mother’s sty. Rather than going wee, wee, wee all the way home, the porky pals have to learn to cope without Mum’s ‘hogs and kisses’ and stand on their own four trotters to outwit the Big Bad Wolf.

Speaking about the production, Stiles and Drewe said: “Our 3 Little Pigs – Bar who loves to exercise, Bee who is “green” to the core, and Q the insatiable bookworm – learn to work together as a team to defeat the Big Bad (but possibly misunderstood) Wolf. We love surprising and bewitching our younger audiences, some of whom will be visiting the theatre for the first time. We take it as a great responsibility to encourage and nurture audiences of the future, so we try to ensure their first experience of a musical is a memorable one.”

While The 3 Little Pigs plays daytime performances this summer, the Palace Theatre continues to host hit musical The Commitments. The tale of how a Dublin soul band is created from a rabble of amateur musicians continues its run in the capital until November.

Both The 3 Little Pigs and The Commitments will take part in our summer children-go-free promotion Kids Week. Tickets for Kids Week go on sale on 16 June.
