The Criterion Theatre hosts the West End debut of new family musical Mr Popper’s Penguins, based on the popular book by Richard and Florence Atwater.

Recently made into a Hollywood film starring Jim Carrey, Mr Popper’s Penguins tells the story of painter and decorator Mr Popper, who dreams of adventuring in the Antarctic.

And one day, to his astonishment, a packing crate arrives on his doorstep – out of which waddles a penguin!

With original music and lyrics, and a family of performing penguins brought vividly to life through magical puppetry, this delightful musical show is brought to the West End by the producer of the Olivier Award nominated Hetty Feather to play for a wonderful Christmas season.

We headed backstage to find out what the cast, humans and penguins alike, get up to before a show.
