Audience Award 2016: Jersey Boys

First Published 26 February 2016, Last Updated 11 March 2016

The West End loves a real life story laid out in all its drama, colour, music and romance on stage, and what could be more entertaining than the story of four blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the most successful bands of the 20th century? Those boys’ names, of course, were Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, and that band was Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

After its 2006 premiere on Broadway, Jersey Boys started its West End run in February 2008 and was nominated for an impressive five Olivier Awards at the 2009 ceremony before taking home arguably the most coveted prize of all, Best New Musical.

Since then, the production has made the Audience Award shortlist three times and this year they’re hoping to make it a neat four. We spoke to Jersey Boys star Michael Watson to find out how he feels about the show and why he believes this is their year to score the Magic Radio Audience Award.

Jersey Boys is booking at the Piccadilly Theatre to 23 October. You can book tickets through us here.

Voting for the Magic Radio Audience Award has now closed.
