An American In Paris springs from West End to big screen

Beautiful new musical An American In Paris will play its final performance at the Dominion Theatre on 6 January 2018, having been filmed for future release in cinemas.

Having opened to widespread critical and audience acclaim in March of this year, the breathtaking production of An American In Paris will now play its final 14 West End weeks, with further international engagements planned.

The ‘S Wonderful show has also confirmed that the West End production, featuring the original London cast including Robert Fairchild and Leanne Cope, has been captured for future broadcast, with details to be confirmed.

Winner of 4 Tony® Awards, the gorgeous stage show An American In Paris features many of George and Ira Gershwin’s most beloved songs, including I Got Rhythm, I’ll Build A Stairway To Paradise, But Not For Me, The Man I Love and They Can’t Take That Away From Me. Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, it is written by Craig Lucas and designed by Bob Crowley.

An American In Paris follows a young American GI pursuing his dream to make it as a painter in the aftermath of war. Following a chance encounter with a beautiful young dancer, the ‘City of Light’ becomes the backdrop to a sensuous, modern romance of art, friendship and love.
