A woman, gaunt and haggard after giving birth eight times, faces her death. She considers her life. What was it? What else could it have been? Her passionate lament is full of bitter humour.

By The Bog Of Cats was Marina Carr’s last work to be staged in London. Her other plays, On Raferty’s Hill and Portia Coughlan, have both previously been staged at the Royal Court.
