Vladimir and Estragon are waiting for Godot, an individual who they believe will give meaning to their lives. As they wait, they engage in spats, banter, word games and slapstick routines as they seek to distract themselves from the meaninglessness of everything.

John Calder, Samuel Beckett’s principle publisher and a close personal friend, formed the Godot company in order to perform a definitive production of what many consider to be the most significant play of the twentieth century.
