A response to the word ‘Restriction’ and part of the artFORMS collection.

One writer, 3 plays, 3 directors and 10 actors take the audience on a journey from high rise flat to church pew taking care not to get stuck behind enemy lines in the war zone along the way.

Jumping depicts a moment in time in a Kings Cross tower block. An isolated mother makes a life changing decision encouraged by an unexpected face from the past.

Based on ‘the temptation from the path’ in Red Riding Hood, Falling tells the tale of an inexperienced soldier trapped behind enemy lines and unsure who to trust.

Landing is a witty, vivid recollection of a childhood experience of restriction in a church setting. With the help of some squash, biscuits and a sermon on ‘The fall of mankind’, the child experiences a moment of liberation.

‘Restriction’ is depicted at its most domestic… and it’s most wild.

‘Freedom’ is explored in its natural… and supernatural form.

And a question arises…..Can one really exist without the other?
