In an audacious bid for freedom, four disabled friends decide to stave off the dole-queue blues by re-enacting Amundsen’s famous 1911 expedition to the South Pole.

As they embark on the adventure of a lifetime, they soon discover they are not on the kind of journey they had originally expected. Sheets become icebergs and wheelchairs become mountains in this fast paced, inspiring conquest of the imagination.

Theatre Resource has worked with the renowned physical theatre company Frantic Assembly, designer Kimie Nakano and a cast of six, including Andy Mclay who wrote and starred in the BBC Radio 3 play Watch the Spider, which was nominated for a Pia Europa Award in 2006.
