Dr Seuss’s family-friendly feline frivolity springs to life at the Rose Theatre Kingston, as we doff our caps to a new staging of The Cat In The Hat!
Based on the much-loved book, The Cat In The Hat sees the titular character – along with his acrobatic accomplices Thing 1 and Thing 2 – invade the stage with riotous rhymes, infectious humour, and some spectacular circus for the grown-ups to boot. And, of course, the magical cat brings his fair share of mischief along too…
The Cat In The Hat follows young duo Sally and her brother, whose lives are turned upside down by the arrival of the eponymous The Cat In The Hat. Havoc, mayhem and a rollercoaster ride pervade – as The Cat tries to rescue them from the dullness of a rainy day!
A co-production with Curve, and adapted by Katie Mitchell, the show is directed by Curve’s Associate Director Suba Das (Pink Sari Revolution, Sukanya), with design by Isla Shaw (The Gruffalo), and original songs from composer Tasha Taylor Johnson (George’s Marvellous Medicine).
Brimming with colour and gleeful energy, The Cat In The Hat is the perfect family show for the 2019 Easter Holiday season.
