The ghost of Sir Simon Canterville has terrified the Canterville family for centuries. But when the grand house is sold to an American family in the 1920s, they find him silly and quaint.

The young twins take delight in tormenting him with tricks until he is an anxious shadow hiding from the next flying pillow. Only the lovely daughter Virginia helps him escape his curse.
