Rose Heiney’s debut play Elephants is a Christmas-set black comedy following a family with secrets ready to explode like an over-microwaved mince pie.

It’s nearly six on Christmas Eve. Richard and Sally are prepared and waiting for their family and friends to join the festivities. But behind the shiny tinsel and festive smiles, the events of last Christmas linger and fester like a piece of disregarded turkey. Attempts to cover them up only lead to an evening of revelations and dark admissions for the Llewellyns.

Writer Heiney, though a newcomer to theatre, has previously written for television sitcoms including Miranda and Fresh Meat.
