Beckett On Stage - Barbican Pit

’Will you never have done revolving it all.’ May, Footfalls

In the play’s four brief scenes, May, a distraught, isolated woman, paces the stage talking to her unseen Mother.

’May we not speak of the old days? [Silence.] Of what came after? [Silence.] Shall we hold hands in the old way?’ Vi, Come and Go

Three women reminisce about old school days. As each woman leaves the stage briefly, the other two whisper an appalling secret about the third.
