Inspired by her own childhood growing up in a family that fostered children over many years, writer and director Rachel Yates has interviewed people with their own stories to share. The result is a new play that weaves together excerpts from these interviews to create a backdrop for the story of a now grown-up son, with children of his own, who is ready to reconnect with the family that loved him deeply.

When you’ve had a child from that young, and you go through so much with them, you don’t ever not think of them as yours. I remember the smell of him, the way he was and everything about him. And so it was amazing for him to come back.

A revealing and uplifting picture of family life told using Chickenshed’s characteristic physical style.
