The central character in Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Pyschosis is a woman in the throes of a terrifying psychological ordeal. Throughout the play she confronts a series of figures who try to reason with her: a close friend, a male doctor, another patient, a female lover, until she ends up attacking her own psyche.

Through anger, grief and despair we witness an intense performance in this heroic struggle for life.
