The Big Question: where will you put your Olivier Award?

Published 14 March 2011

With the Olivier Awards with Mastercard over for another year, the happy winners have to decide where to display their brand new, personally engraved statuette of Laurence Olivier himself.

Where will you put your Olivier Award?

Neil Austin (Best Lighting Design): I’m going to treat it slightly better than my mentor who’s got five of them propping open each door in his house. I think I might actually put them on a shelf!

Michelle Terry (Best Actress in a Supporting Role): I wish I had a garden because it would make a perfect gnome! It’s really heavy so I think my student flat will have no shelves that will hold it so I will have to find somewhere else.

Adrian Scarborough (Best Actor in a Supporting Role): We are having our kitchen done. Just because it will be the newest room in the house we will find a way to put it in there. I quite like the idea of him watching me doing terrible cooking!

Sheridan Smith (Best Actress in a Musical): It’s so special, you kind of want a case for it don’t you, maybe I’ll get a big glass cabinet for it to stand on its own. I never expected in my life to win one of these.

Bruce Norris (MasterCard Best New Play): I don’t know, I now have two very heavy metallic objects that I’ll have to find a place for!
