Laurence Olivier Award nominee Hannah Waddingham is to return to the Menier Chocolate Factory, to present one week of cabaret at the intimate London Bridge venue from 16 to 20 March.
The leading lady previously appeared at the Menier when she played Desiree Armfeldt in Trevor Nunn’s production of A Little Night Music which transferred to the Garrick theatre and earned Waddingham her 2010 Laurence Olivier Award nomination in the Best Actress in a Musical or Entertainment category.
The cabaret show, Hannah Waddingham Live At The Chocolate Factory, will feature a live big band accompanying Waddingham as she performs a wide range of songs, from swing and show tunes to pop and jazz.
Waddingham previously received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for her performance as The Lady Of The Lake in Monty Python’s Spamalot, a role she played both in the West End and on Broadway. Her other London stage credits include Lautrec, The Beautiful Game and Tonight’s The Night.
The Menier Chocolate Factory has swiftly built a reputation for creating exciting new musical revivals, having previously transferred Sunday In The Park With George, Little Shop Of Horrors, La Cage Aux Folles and A Little Night Music into the West End, winning numerous awards in the process.
Hannah Waddingham Live At The Chocolate Factory follows the fringe venue’s latest hit, Sweet Charity, which stars Tamzin Outhwaite as the naïve title character who is too quick to give away her heart to the wrong man. Sweet Charity finishes its run on 7 March.
