There can be little treat more fantastically festive than settling into a warm, comfy theatre seat, with a soundtrack of hymns playing in the background, and being regaled by a revered actor’s retelling of the eternal Dickens winter favourite, A Christmas Carol.

So it’s little wonder that Simon Callow’s heart-warming one man show A Christmas Carol is once again charming audiences at the Arts Theatre for a third enchanting season. We spoke to him about how he continues to enjoy bringing the story to new audiences, and why the production is so important to us all.

Based on Dickens’ own performance of the novel, Simon and director-designer Tom Cairns craft a beautifully sumptuous and imaginative storytelling performance, following the ghosts which spirit Scrooge from the present to his past and future. With its treasured story and celebration fo the goodness of the human heart, as well as a plea for justice, it’s hard not to be moved.

A Christmas Carol With Simon Callow plays for a strictly limited season until 7 January 2017. You can book your tickets through us here.
