Thomas replaces Fleeshman in Legally Blonde

Simon Thomas, who spent his summer strutting around Regents Park Open Air theatre as Rapunzel’s Prince in Into The Woods, will move to a theatre with a roof this autumn when he joins the cast of Legally Blonde The Musical.

The musical theatre leading man will replace Richard Fleeshman as Warner Huntington III from 25 October, when Denise Van Outen, Siobhan Dillon and Carley Stenson also join Sheridan Smith in the cast of the hit musical.

Thomas is a regular at the Open Air theatre, where his previous credits include Cymbeline, Twelfth Night and HMS Pinafore. His other London appearances include Marguerite (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Days Of Hope (King’s Head theatre) and Make Me A Song (New Players theatre), and he played the title role in Disney’s Tarzan at Hamburg’s Theatre Neue Flora.

Legally Blonde The Musical, which opened at the Savoy theatre earlier this year, is based on the hit Reese Witherspoon film and tells the story of homecoming queen Elle Woods (Smith) who, when she is dumped by boyfriend Warner for someone serious, swaps her credit cards for books and heads for Harvard Law.
