Sunny Afternoon to close this October

First Published 16 June 2016, Last Updated 16 June 2016

Sunny Afternoon, the Olivier Award-winning musical about hit British band The Kinks, has today announced its closure on 29 October.

Following two successful years at the Harold Pinter Theatre, the show will begin its national tour on 19 August at the Manchester Opera House, before playing its last encore in London in the autumn.

Sunny Afternoon follows the fortunes of The Kinks, from two brothers jamming in a bedroom to becoming one of the leading British bands, trying to make it in America. It includes all of their greatest hits, including You Really Got Me, Waterloo Sunset, Days and Lola.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the hit song from which the musical gets its name, 50 top priced tickets will be sold for £19.66 at each performance in July.

The show started its life at the Hampstead Theatre before transferring to the West End and winning four Olivier Awards in 2015.

Sunny Afternoon runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre until 29 October. You can buy tickets through us here.
