Our 5 favourite Come From Away moments

By Hira Desai Published 21 February 2020

The multi-Olivier Award-winning Come From Away playing at the Phoenix Theatre is celebrating it’s first birthday in the West End this week and my oh my, what a year it’s been!

Based on the real-life stories of 7,000 air passengers grounded in Canada after 9/11, Come From Away tells the remarkable story of a small town that welcomed the world in crisis.

Since opening, the joyous show has won four Olivier Awards as well as continuing sold-out, record-breaking performances on Broadway and across the USA, Canada and Australia.

We’ve laughed, we’ve cried and we’ve stamped our feet to the beat of the Rock. And to celebrate this special occasion, it’s only fair that we continue to spread the love by sharing our five favourite Come From Away moments from the last year. Happy West End Birthday Come From Away!

2. Welcome To The Rock Mash Up with Spirit Young Performers Company

The cast of West End’s Come From Away were blown away when they saw the Spirit Young Performers Company’s performance of Welcome To The Rock, so in true Islander fashion, they decided to turn it into a heartwarming mash-up of their own. It’s got energy, it’s got style and above all, it unites them all as one!
