Based on the real-life stories of 7,000 air passengers grounded in Canada after 9/11, Come From Away tells the remarkable story of a small town that welcomed the world in crisis.
Since opening, the joyous show has won four Olivier Awards as well as continuing sold-out, record-breaking performances on Broadway and across the USA, Canada and Australia.
We’ve laughed, we’ve cried and we’ve stamped our feet to the beat of the Rock. And to celebrate this special occasion, it’s only fair that we continue to spread the love by sharing our five favourite Come From Away moments from the last year. Happy West End Birthday Come From Away!
1. Come From Away’s West End LIVE debut
The cast of Come From Away celebrated Newfoundland in all its glory at West End LIVE 2019. Landing in London with a powerful message of kindness and friendship, the infectious beats and positive energy had the crowds clapping, stamping and eager to become an Islander!
2. Welcome To The Rock Mash Up with Spirit Young Performers Company
The cast of West End’s Come From Away were blown away when they saw the Spirit Young Performers Company’s performance of Welcome To The Rock, so in true Islander fashion, they decided to turn it into a heartwarming mash-up of their own. It’s got energy, it’s got style and above all, it unites them all as one!
3. Come From Away announce the Olivier Awards 2020 with Mastercard
The Olivier Awards will be returning to the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 5 April and who better to spread the news than our amazing friends from Gander? Established in 1976, the Olivier Awards celebrate the world-class status of London theatre. Last year, Come From Away was nominated for a whopping nine Olivier Awards and we know we mentioned it before, but yes, they won four!

5. Come From Away wins Best New Musical (and 3 more categories!)
And of course, to end our round up, we have none other than the multi-award winning celebration at the Olivier Awards 2019 with Mastercard.
