Operation Ouch gets an adult makeover

Kids all over London are counting down the days to December. Not just until Santa shimmies down the proverbial chimney, but for when Dr Chris and Dr Xand van Tulleken bring their live Operation Ouch show to the West End. And now, it’s not just time for the under 16s to get excited because the TV doctors have announced they’re putting on two adult-only shows, too.

During the show, pleasure and danger will be linked in this exploration of temptation and addiction. Whether your weakness is cake, drugs, TV box sets or base-jumping, modern life presents humans with a set of temptations and consequential harms we can all understand. Dr Chris and Xand will examine how itís possible to get the most out of ourselves without self-help taking over our lives and without getting distracted by fads and nonsense.

These adult-only performances will take place at 7pm on Sunday 9 December 2018 and Sunday 6 January 2019 at the Apollo Theatre.

These performances will be taking place during the Operation Ouch! Live On Stage run. It’s the first time the BAFTA-winning TV show will be playing live in the UK. Previously, the action-packed show had two sold-out Australian tours where they explored things such as what the inside of a head looks like, how germs can be good for you, what you can do with a month’s worth of farts, and much more.

The twins are Oxford University trained doctors and still work in medicine. Dr Chris is based at University College London Hospital and Dr Xand is the Helen Hamlyn Senior Fellow at Fordham University’s Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs.

As well as Operation Ouch!, they have appeared in other TV shows such as The Human Body: Secrets of Your Life Revealed, Frontline Doctors: Winter Migrant Crisis, Horizon, Is Binge Drinking Really That Bad?, Blow Your Mind, Horizon, Sugar V Fat, Which Doctor?, The Secret Life Of Twins, and Medicine Men Go Wild.
