GILT2014 – Strangers On A Train

900x600

New Strangers On A Train trailer

Published 31 October 2013

What better time than Halloween to release a trailer for London’s latest tension-packed thriller, Strangers On A Train?

Despite Craig Warner’s stage adaptation being based on Patricia Highsmith’s original novel, this new trailer feels distinctly Hitchcockian; the soundtrack, the beautiful typography, the murky sense of impending doom. It has the atmosphere of a classic tale of mystery and murder.

That is, of course, what Stranger On A Train is. Its story is one of two men with similar problems who meet aboard a locomotive. Guy Haines wants rid of his wife so that he can marry his new love, while Charles Bruno wants his father dead. When Bruno takes the carriage conversation far more seriously than Haines, it leads to blackmail and psychological torment.

The cast boasts star of TV detective drama Lewis, Laurence Fox, as the unfortunate Guy Haines, with Boardwalk Empire’s Jack Huston as Bruno, the pair starring alongside former Spooks star Miranda Raison, Downton Abbey and Ripper Street’s MyAnna Buring, Imogen Stubbs and Christian McKay.

The show begins previews on Saturday before opening on 19 November. Until then we can be drawn into the world of intrigue and drama by the trailer above.
