New Bodyguard trailer released

First Published 16 October 2013, Last Updated 22 October 2013

Has Beverley Knight, as the song suggests, got the stuff that you want and the things that you need? The only way to find out is to see The Bodyguard, but this rocking new theatrical trailer gives you a pretty good idea.

Soul star Knight and new co-star Tristan Gemmill officially took to the stage for the media as The Bodyguard’s new global diva Rachel Marron and growling security man Frank Farmer earlier this week. This new trailer gives a hint at what you can now expect from the show, be it a fierce rendition of Queen Of The Night, a beautiful duet of Run To You with original cast member Debbie Kurup or the most anticipated climax to any song ever, as we’re now calling it, the I Will Always Love You top note.

Knight and Gemmill stepped into the roles originally played on the London stage by Heather Headley and Lloyd Owen last month, leading the musical stage adaptation of the hit Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner film. The tale of a music superstar whose management is forced to hire a highly trained and extremely serious new security man when a stalker’s advances become threatening opened at the Adelphi theatre last autumn, receiving four Olivier Award nominations. Its story of friendship and love threatened by professional duty, combined with Houston’s incredible back catalogue, is making audiences, inevitably, want to dance with somebody.
