London Palladium to host starry An Evening With Jason Robert Brown

By Robin Johnson Published 21 March 2018

The London Palladium will host a one-off West End concert with brilliant musical theatre composer Jason Robert Brown next month.

The three-time Tony Award-winning composer, conductor and pianist will be accompanied by the 60-piece BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Broadway’s Larry Blank, playing a special concert on Wednesday 11 April 7.30pm. Special guest performers will include brilliant Broadway stars Norm Lewis and Betsy Wolfe, along with ever-‘Popular’ former Wicked star, Rachel Tucker.

The concert celebrates one of the giants of contemporary musical theatre at an iconic venue. It will feature songs from Brown’s array of dazzling musicals, including the Tony Award winning productions of The Bridges Of Madison County and Parade, as well as musical favourites The Last Five Years, Honeymoon In Vegas, and his debut song cycle Songs For A New World.

Brown has previously played sold out London concerts at the Royal Festival Hall, Garrick Theatre, Apollo Theatre and Charing Cross Theatre.

He said of the concert: “My general feeling about musicians is ‘the more the merrier’, and particularly so when it’s a group of musicians as versatile, as sensitive, and as spectacularly virtuosic as the members of the BBC Concert Orchestra. I can’t wait to share the music I’ve written with these brilliant musicians, these glorious singers, and the wonderful audience at the Palladium and on the air!”

Tickets are available through the Really Useful Group website.
