Harry Potter star leads Right Now to Bush

Published 19 January 2016

Harry Potter star Sean Biggerstaff is the latest Hogwarts graduate to head to the London stage. The actor, who played Oliver Wood in the world-conquering franchise, leads the cast of Right Now when it heads to the Bush.

Catherine-Anne Toupin’s play runs at the west London venue from 23 March to 16 April and will reunite Biggerstaff with director Michael Boyd, with whom he first worked at the age of 10 in a production of Macbeth.

In Right Now, the former captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team plays Ben who, with Alice, moves into a beautiful new flat. The family across the hall are very keen to make friends with their new neighbours, but their initial welcome soon grows into something far more disturbing as innocent invitations lead to unsettling revelations.

Biggerstaff is joined in the production by Lindsey Campbell as Alice, with Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre regulars Maureen Beattie and Guy Williams, and Richard Burton Award winner Dyfan Dwyfor, as the intruding family.

Speaking about the production, Bush Theatre Artistic Director Madani Younis described the play as “a startling and audacious text that puts one woman’s crisis at the heart of its drama”.

Right Now opens at the Bush following Pink Mist, the story of three young Bristol men deployed to Afghanistan, which begins its run this week.
