The Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s acclaimed production of Crazy For You will be sheltered from the elements this winter as it moves to the West End’s Novello theatre.

The Gershwin musical, which has been entertaining al fresco audiences this summer, will move to the Cameron Mackintosh-owned venue from 8 October, where it is booking until 28 July 2012.

The entire cast of the Regent’s Park hit, which includes Clare Foster, Sean Palmer, Kim Medcalf, Harriet Thorpe and David Burt, is to transfer with the production.

Crazy For You tells the story of a banker’s son who doesn’t want to follow his mother into the money game as he would rather be a performer. Sent to foreclose on a rundown theatre in a Wild West town, he falls for the owner’s daughter, but has to conceal his real identity and try to win her by saving her theatre.

Featuring a book by Ken Ludwig, it brings together a host of the Gershwins’ most famous songs, including I Got Rhythm, Someone To Watch Over Me and Nice Work If You Can Get It.

Crazy For You’s transfer to the Novello theatre follows the closure of Betty Blue Eyes, the new musical about a pig, some corrupt officials and a country in the grip of austerity measures, which brings its run to an end on 24 September.
