After almost 30 years of waiting, London theatregoers can finally see the multi-award-winning Falsettos later this year.  Selladoor Worldwide – the producers behind 9 to 5, Big Fish, American Idiot, and Avenue Q – is bringing the long-awaited European premiere of William Finn and James Lapine’s show to The Other Palace theatre for your viewing pleasure.

Falsettos tells the hilarious and poignant story of an evolving family. It looks at the dynamics of Marvin (a gay man), his wife, his lover, his soon to be bar mitzvahed son, their psychiatrist, and the lesbian neighbours. Originally premiering on Broadway in 1992 and set in 1979, this ground-breaking musical – which is broken into two parts, March Of The Falsettos and Falsettoland – explores a new world for Marvin and the impact of the AIDS crisis.

About the upcoming run, David Hutchinson, CEO of Selladoor Worldwide, said: “This is a show we have wanted to bring to London since we embarked on our careers as producers. We’ve been exploring and planning this one for nearly a decade, and I am delighted that today we can tell the world that this beautiful, critically-acclaimed musical – is finally coming to the capital.”

The show’s original run was nominated for seven Tony Awards of which it won two – for Best Original Score and Best Book Of A Musical – and its 2016 Broadway revival was nominated for four Tony Awards.

Falsettos will run at The Other Palace from 30 August – 23 November. Casting is yet to be announced and tickets will go on general sale from Monday 6 May.
