Pied Piper is a contemporary performance inspired by Robert Browning’s poem The Pied Piper Of Hamelin. It is an innovative, original and thrilling fusion of dance and narrative, taking an edgy look at morality.

Returning to the Barbican after a triumphant season in March 2009, Pied Piper is an adrenalin-fuelled explosion combining original street dance choreography with a bold urban soundtrack.

Boy Blue Entertainment’s electrifying mix of synchronized hip-hop moves, energetic breakdancing and soulful beats, take the audience to the heart of the city streets.

Pied Piper won a Laurence Olivier Award in 2007 following a sell-out season at Theatre Royal Stratford East.

Since its establishment in 2001 by Kenrick Sandy and Michael Asante, Boy Blue Entertainment has provided access to dance training to more than 500 young people and is now probably East London’s largest and most innovative street dance troupe.

ULTZ has designed and directed plays and operas all over the world but it is his love of hip-hop that inspired the idea for Pied Piper and which led to his award-winning collaboration with Boy Blue Entertainment.

Pied Piper is suitable for theatregoers aged 10 and older.
