English National Ballet’s vibrant and eccentric production of The Nutcracker, designed by Gerald Scarfe and choreographed by Christopher Hampson, is performed for the last time at the London Coliseum, having enchanted audiences in the capital for eight consecutive years.

A traditional Christmas favourite, The Nutcracker tells the story of Clara, her Nutcracker doll and the magician Drosselmeyer, and their amazing adventures in the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of the Sweets. It is a spellbinding experience; Clara battles with a Mouse King, dances with snowflakes and falls in love with a handsome Prince.

The Nutcracker’s eternally popular Tchaikovsky score features the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and many other familiar favourites.

The 14:30 performance of The Nutcracker on 17 December is a designated ‘Child Friendly’ performance. All children under the age of 16 can attend free, and it is the only performance where children under the age of 5 will be admitted.
