Frank has got the interview; it’s his big break, the one he’s been waiting for. All he has left to do is convince two rather formidable women from the corporation and he’ll be off back to Russia. But, as often happens with once in a lifetime opportunities, history seems to be working against them all.

April de Angelis has previously had Hush staged at the Royal Court. Her other plays include Headstrong and A Laughing Matter (both seen at the National), The Warwickshire Testimony (RSC), The Positive Hour (a co-production between Out of Joint and Hampstead), Playhouse Creatures and the libretto for Flight.

Phyllida Lloyd, who directs Wild East, has directed for opera, theatre and television. She has previously directed at the Royal Court (Six Degrees Of Separation, Hysteria), the National, Royal Shakespeare Company and across the West End, including long running Abba hit Mamma Mia!
