When Irishman Michael is joined in his English home by his brothers and father he is forced to confront old resentments and tensions. He came to England for a better life, but the return of his family, who are ready to wage a gang war, forces Michael to take a stand.

Tom Murphy’s masterpiece caused shock and controversy when it was first staged in London and Dublin. Written when he was only 25, A Whistle In The Dark explores the issues of tribalism and violence in men.
