Patrick Marber’s critically acclaimed and multi-Olivier nominated production of Tom Stoppard’s mind-bogglingly hilarious comedy Travesties to baffle and bemuse audiences alike.

Tom Hollander plays Henry Carr, a minor British diplomat in Zurich 1917, who attempts to recall events in the city at a time when James Joyce, Tristan Tzara and Lenin were all present. But in a dazzling comedy of art, love and revolution, Henry’s memories waver, and in wander Gwendolen and Cecily from a production of The Importance Of Being Earnest in which he also starred.

Having sold out ahead of its first preview at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Travesties played to rapturous critical reception. Official London Theatre described the production as a “crackling comedy of muddled memories and highbrow hilarity.”

The show has now transferred with its full company including Freddie Fox as Tristan Tzara, Peter McDonald (James Joyce), Clare Foster (Cecily), Forbes Masson (Lenin), Amy Morgan (Gwendolen), Sarah Quist (Nadya), and Tim Wallers (Bennett).
