This Wide Night is a tender portrayal of two women trying to start again. On release from prison, Lorraine heads straight to Marie’s. They used to share everything inside, but the friendship that once protected them now threatens to smother the fragile freedom they have found.

This Wide Night is produced by Clean Break, which was founded by two women in prison in 1979. From its roots as a small-scale fringe theatre company, it has grown today to become a critically-acclaimed organisation that maintains a commitment to social justice, personal and societal change, and the empowerment of women who have experienced the criminal justice system.
