Alastair Marriott’s new ballet The Unknown Soldier, a collaboration with Devlin, imagines the story of individuals caught up in the turmoil of war. Set to a commissioned score from Dario Marianelli (Darkest Hour, Anna Karenina, Atonement), it will commemorate the centenary of the end of World War I.

Alastair has created numerous works for The Royal Ballet, including Being and Having Been, Tanglewood and Sensorium. His pieces are inspired by a wide range of sources, from Children of Adam, a response to Walt Whitman’s poems, to Connectome, a visually stunning collaboration with designer Es Devlin, inspired by theories of neuroscience.
