The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse hosts a riotous romp of an anarchic comedy as touring production The Two Gentlemen Of Verona brings with it an exuberant ensemble, jovial songs and romantic chaos.

Making full use of the archetypal Shakespearean set-up of two pairs of crossed lovers to wreak havoc, Valentine is in love with Silvia, and Proteus loves Julia – and, it so happens, Silvia as well. Foiling Valentine’s ploy to elope, Proteus betrays him and causes his banishment.

But with Silvia pursuing her love to the forest, Proteus in pursuit of her, and Julia also after the one she loves, the romantic anarchy is grounded by their two servants, Speed and Launce, and trusty canine companion Crab.

A side-splitting, energetic and effervescent production, led by a joyful ensemble of players who will delight with this romantic chaos brought into the 21st century.
