Exploring the moral and environmental ramifications of our modern materialism and desire to nest, The Nest is a cutting new adaptation of the classic German text by Conor McPherson.

Kurt and Martha are overjoyed soon-to-be parents, determined that their child will want for nothing. Understanding the need to do so, they put in the hard work to ensure that they can buy the very latest in appliances for their youngster.

But when offered a mysterious side job to gain some easy extra money, the boundaries of Kurt’s drive are pushed to breaking point – will his rashness catch up with him, and his entire community?

Ian Rickson directs this modern day fable at the Young Vic.
